PortMiami Supports Cruise Lines By Continuing to Waive Fees

As the cruise industry continues to suffer due to the suspension of operations around the world, PortMiami is removing lay berth and harbor fees to help ease the burden on the large organizations.

“Miami-Dade County will continue to support our cruise line partners throughout these unprecedented times,” said Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.

“As we await the safe return of cruising, we will maintain our commitment to our stakeholders who have shown great resilience during this crisis.”

The waiver extension which was announced on December 21, 2020 will remain in effect through January 31, 2021.

The waiver of fees has been in place since cruise lines first suspended their operations in March, and have been extended numerous times.

In recent weeks, ships have started returning to the cruise capital of the world to prepare for the resumption of operation. PortMiami is slowly starting to show signs of cruise activity with new cruise terminals and offerings.
