The Caribbean Journal has awarded St. Kitts the destination of Yachting Destination of the Year. The decision was released along with their list of winners for the 2021 Caribbean Travel Awards today.
The island is one of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles. It is situated about 1,300 mi southeast of Miami and has a population of around 40,000.
St. Kitts is a relatively new player in the Caribbean yachting sector, but he stunning white beaches, softly swaying palms and mountains blanketed with thick jungles keep drawing yachts to its deluxe and luxurious marinas and harbors.
From November to February, the warm with mild trade winds making for perfect sailing in St. Kitts. In July and August, the Culturama festival gives a real feel of island life.
Looking forward, St. Kitts hopes to diversify its tourism industry with a special focus on yachting and the marine services sector.
